CPC celebrates the music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor on the 150th Anniversary of His Birth
Born of a doctor from Sierra Leone and an English mother, the acclaimed composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor brought African music to English symphonic halls in choral and orchestral works. The program includes music by Coleridgr-Taylor’s contemporaries, Amy Beach, Gustav Holst, Edward Elgar, Henry T. Burleigh, and Undine Moore. CPC will be joined by the Dunloggin Middle School Chorus, Helen Bates, director, to sing “Freedom Trilogy” by Paul Halley.
