“Centerfold,” “Love Stinks,” “Freeze-Frame”—Danny Klein, founding bassist of The J. Geils Band, helped shape the band’s legendary blues-rock sound. Influenced by Motown, R&B, and blues icons like Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy, Klein’s journey began at Worcester Poly Tech, where he met J. Geils and Magic Dick. After years of touring and 17 albums, he took a break to pursue his passion for cooking before returning to music. From playing with blues artists to forming StoneCrazy, Klein continues to keep the spirit of rock and blues alive.
