Thursday, Apr 11, 2024 from 11:00am to 5:00pm
Ulrich Museum Of Art
1845 Fairmount Street
316-978-3664

Kicking off the Ulrich’s 50th Anniversary special programming, Fully Dimensional: Artists of the Outdoor Sculpture Collection is an extended exhibition that celebrates artists of the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection and explores elements of their larger bodies of work. Featuring over 90 pieces, Fully Dimensional combines selections from the Ulrich permanent collection and special works on loan to encourage deeper engagement with these multifaceted artists through their complex creative processes and identities, as
well as the diverse media they produce(d).

Established in 1972, the Outdoor Sculpture Collection has become not only an integral part of the daily Wichita State University experience but has grown into a beloved cultural destination for the Wichita community and the region for art engagement that is always free and accessible. Campus itself is a veritable art gallery, offering sculptures on view by Henry Moore, Louise Nevelson, Hank Willis Thomas, Robert Indiana, Joan Miró, Alice Aycock, Louis Alfonso Jiménez, and Andy Goldsworthy, to name a few. Fully Dimensional includes process sketches, prints, paintings, drawings, collages, and sculptures made by these artists and many more represented in the collection. Don’t miss a chance to view Barbara Hepworth’s Figure (Archaean) (1959) inside the gallery after
its return from conservation.

Special thanks to the Wichita State University School of Digital Arts at Shocker Studios for creating the interactive components of augmented reality (AR) for use in the galleries during Fully Dimensional.

Our Spring exhibitions are made possible by the generosity of Ulrich50 donors, for which the Ulrich is very grateful. We also receive support from the City of Wichita, Wichita State University, and our Ulrich Friends with Benefits members.
