Gayle E. Martin with Pianist Alvin Waddles Pieces of Me You May Not See

Award-winning and celebrated southeast Michigan musical theatre and cabaret performer Gayle E. Martin makes her solo cabaret debut at Kerrytown Concert House this January after many seasons as a featured cast member in KCH’s popular Wine, Women & Song series!  Accompanying her at the Steinway will be her friend and KCH favorite, the incomparable Alvin Waddles.  In Pieces of Me You May Not See, Martin offers a style of cabaret that is personal and seeks to make an intimate connection between artist and audience, revealing through music and song some of her life not known by all, and that reveals her heart with songs of love, pain, laughter and tenacity, all delivered with her powerhouse sound and captivating delivery.  You won’t want to miss this special evening with Gayle and Alvin at the Kerrytown “Cabaret” House!  

A longtime instructor of dance and voice at Washtenaw Community College, she received the lifetime achievement award in March 2023, and an award for artistic courage has been established in her name. “Detroit original” Alvin Waddles has delighted Detroit music lovers with performances in a variety of musical events including the international Detroit Jazz Fest and the Detroit Festival of the Arts. He is the featured piano soloist in the often-sold-out annual productions of “Too Hot to Handel” in both Detroit and Chicago and can be found performing wherever music is celebrated from festivals to jazz clubs, and performing arts venues.
