The Hess Performance Stage is an accessible open air stage on the library’s large west lawn. It will allow the library to carry on its long tradition of outdoor programming with the infrastructure to support a wide range of events. The stage was designed by
H|AI Architecture and built by
Campora Construction.
The stage is named after Marjorie Hess, longtime patron, library supporter, former trustee, and follower of the arts who along with her partner Rudolph Talaber made significant contributions towards the project.
Additional support provided by the Friends of Forbes, City of Northampton ARPA Community Recovery Grants, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, MassDevelopment, AARP Massachusetts, and many individual donors.
