Learn the craft of making your own paint from natural materials! Participants will learn how to extract color from mineral and botanical based materials gained by the foundations of observational and experimental studies from sensory knowledge and time. This is a great workshop for those wanting to dive deeper into the alchemy of color and creating their own materials to use in their art practice. This foundational course is open to all ages and levels of experience.

This is one of the courses that falls under the study of ArtechnÄ“ ,the study of art technology and materials. This class, as well as Intro to Botanical Drawings, are foundational courses: ‘how to make’ artist materials of various natural color mediums for painting and drawing, including their relationships with tools, binders and surfaces.
