Jazz Concert Series: Gerry Gibbs Thrasher Trio

Grammy-nominated drummer Gerry Gibbs, son of jazz vibraphone pioneer Terry Gibbs, began assembling Thrasher bands in the '90s. His Thrasher Trios have been most notable with titans like Kenny Barron and Ron Carter or Chick Corea and Buster Williams accompanying Gerry in creating masterful straight ahead jazz.

This Trio includes Cyrus Chestnut, who Time Magazine called "the best jazz pianist of his generation," and Kenny Davis, bassist on Cassandra Wilson's Grammy-winning Blue Light 'till Dawn.
