It's 1977 and disco rules the city. Tucked away in the heart of downtown Manhattan, a gay off-off-OFF Broadway theater is barely surviving by operating "Mercury Messages," a soon-to-be obsolete telephone answering service. But times are changing: affordable answering machines are upending the old ways. The economic landscape is shifting and the ambitions of the theater's artists are evolving.
As this ragtag troupe faces the dual threats of heartbreak and uncertainty, one question hangs in the air: Will this signal the final act--or is it the cue for a dazzling new beginning?
Award-winning director Steve Vernon directs a stellar cast, including Wilmington theatre favorite Jeff Phillips, Ben Thomas-Reid, Jace Carlyle Berry, Devin DiMattia, Blair Houtz and Paula Davis.
