Join us for an evening of auditory exploration at QUADRANT v8.0 - the eighth edition of dadageek's quadraphonic electronic music series, featuring spatial sound performance and real-time video art. Hosted at dadaLab, this event showcases the creative potential of quadraphonic sound—an audio format that utilizes four speakers positioned around the listener to create a more immersive listening experience.
Unlike traditional stereo, which limits sound to a left-right axis, quadraphonic audio allows artists to position and move sounds in a 360-degree space. This spatial approach opens up new possibilities for composition and performance, enabling more dynamic and engaging sonic experiences.
Each artist performing at QUADRANT v8.0 has developed a piece specifically for dadaLab’s 4-channel system, using spatial techniques to explore movement, texture, and atmosphere in sound. The result is a listening experience that encourages deeper attention to how sound interacts with space and perception.
