BAND BIO: Rose & The Bros is a rocking dance band from Ithaca, specializing in Zydeco and Cajun music from SW Louisiana as well as crooning country songs. Inspired by the downhome groove and vibe of the ALL NIGHT Zydeco and Cajun “Dances” at The Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg. The members, all accomplished and revered musicians in their own right, were drawn together by a shared love of the deep dance grooves Zydeco possesses. They’re possessed … be careful, you will be too!!!!

The band is led by Rosie Newton (accordion & fiddle), an internationally touring fiddler and singer with her Old Time duo, “Richie and Rosie”. Rosie has shared her fiddling gifts with many bands, having toured several times with Louisiana Zydeco legend Preston Frank, as well as the Canadian band “The Duhks” and Americana bands “Red Dog Run”, “Evil City Stringband”, and “Home Remedy”. Rosie was inspired to play the accordion during her tours with Preston and trips down to Louisiana. WATCH OUT!! Now that Rosie Newton has picked up the accordion the world as we know it will never be the same!!!!!

Rose & The Bros began as a collective dream. Rosie Newton, Steve Selin and Paul Martin wanted to have a band together playing rockin’ music people just couldn’t help but dance to! Starting in 2015 the trio began collecting songs and searching for the perfect rhythm section. Greg Evans, Angelo Peters and Sally Freund fit the bill and made the band complete. Together they specialize in Cajun and Zydeco music from South West Louisiana. They also include sweet vocal harmonies and a few crooning country classics in the mix. Their goal is to breathe life into the young dance music scene and have a great time doing it.
