Join us for Sundays with SAMF! You are invited to experience traditional West African music, primarily from the Griot tradition of West Africa that dates back to the 12th century and native to the Mande Kingdom in this unique offering sponsored by the St. Augustine Music Festival. Jordan Taylor, guitar and Micah Taylor, cello will present this unique musical program on May 5. The Taylor brothers, who lived for 14 years in Ghana, have done comprehensive research into this traditional music, produced arrangements and recorded a series of three digital EPs that highlight different traditions. As the result of their deep love for the Ghanaian culture, Jordan founded the Ghana National Music Festival in 2015 to inspire Ghana’s youth towards a career path in music and foster international collaborations between American and Ghanaian artists.
