Murray City presents "Hairspray" at the Murray Park Amphitheater.

Set in 1962, Hairspray tells the story of Tracy Turnbald, a quirky, plus sized teen with one dream: dancing on "The Corny Collins Show'. Tracy transforms from a nobody into a star and uses her newfound influence to advocate for racial integration on the television.

Directed by Tammy Ross. Music Direction by Jason Campbell, Choreographer Annakaitlyn Burningham, Stage Manager Caitlin Freeman, Costume Design Jan Harris, Wig/Props Mistress Morgan Eggleston, and set design by Dwight Western. 

Hairspray is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Music by Marc Shaiman. Lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. Based on the New Line Cinema film written and directed by John Waters.
