Join author and historian, Duane Shaffer, as he presents the behind-the-scenes story of the Columbian Exposition, also known as the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Spanning over 600 acres, the fair introduced millions of people to many of the inventions we still see today, such as Cracker Jacks, elevators, and the first electric chair. Visitors even had the opportunity to view Edison's kinetoscope and listen to the very first voice recording. In a place brimming with hope and wonder, no one could have anticipated the danger that lurked.
