Virginia Military Institute Band and Dinner, September 13th

Enjoy and evening of dining and foot-tapping with the upbeat jazz music of the VMI Commander's Jazz Band. This event will be held at the American Legion Post 12, 60 County Street, Norwalk (across from the Norwalk High School).

The VMI Regimental Band was formed in 1947 and consists of 154 cadets from every class and major within the Corps of Cadets. The band travels over 10,000 miles and performs over 100 times per year as musical ambassadors of the Corps of Cadets. They provide music for parades, ceremonies, and sporting events. The Regimental Band also supports the Corps of Cadets during drills and ceremonies at VMI. Elements of the Band Company include the VMI Pipe Band, the Commander's Jazz Band, the Institute Brass Ensemble, the Drummers and Herald Trumpets, the Cadet Buglers, and the Concert Band.

This award-winning band received first place awards at the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade; featured in the New Orleans Mardi Gras; performed at the French Bicentennial in Paris; performed at various Presidential Inaugurations; The Tournament of Roses; The NYC Macy's Day Parade, and at Disneyland and Disneyworld.
