Disposable Film Festival

The Disposable Film Festival (DFF) celebrates the artistic potential of disposable video: short films made on small, non-professional cameras, personal devices like mobile phones or Google Glass, low cost, tech-driven techniques such as screen capture software, apps like Vine and Instagram, innovative usage of available technology like Google Maps, and a wide range of new animation techniques. As time goes on and new technology is available, more techniques will come forth.

Once a year in San Francisco we showcase the best films around the globe made with a personal screen on the silver screen. Our program travels around the world in sister film festivals, museums, and other curated events.

Disposable Film Festival has been, for a decade, a pioneer in bringing the best online video across the globe from the personal screen to the silver screen. Through screenings, workshops, competitions, panels, parties, and other events intended to educate and inspire, the DFF promotes and supports the next generation of filmmakers to enter and change the industry.

The program kicks off annually in San Francisco and is then seen in film festivals around the world throughout the year.
