About Us:

The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center is barrier free accessible.

Specific programs and "open use" hours are scheduled quarterly.

Specific areas and activities have age requirements.

The staff, programs and facilities of the Recreation Department are here to help you and your family stay physically fit and entertained throughout the year. The Recreation staff is your link to a wide variety of great opportunities to enjoy athletics, fitness, leisure and cultural arts. Recreation Director Greg Orner, the Recreation Commision, the city Council and I all work together to make sure our recreation facilities and programs are second to none.

Our indoor aquatics area offers a regulation-size lap pool with a diving area, a zero-depth entry pool with water slides and water toys, a "lazy river" channel, a vortex that's perfect for low-impact exercise, and a whirlpool spa. The senior citizen wing has a new lounge and plenty of activity rooms for the city's extensive lineup of classes, programs, and special events designed specifically for older people. The cultural arts are part of the Center, too. The Frank & Mary Padzieski Gallery exhibits the works of outstanding local, regional and national artists. The magnificent 1,201-seat theater is the perfect venue to enjoy the talents of some of America's greatest singers, dancers, actors, and other performing artists. As if all that weren't enough, the Center includes additional amenities like a baby-sitting center; a Shield's Center Court cafe; a second, 200-seat "blackbox" theater; corporate meeting and club rooms available for rent; an outdoor outdoor pond and jogging track; new baseball and soccer fields; and the Great Hall, which offers special event seating for groups large or small.
