Phinizy Swamp Nature Park is an important component of the program’s operation. Visitors are able to connect with nature 365 days a year for free. Guided hikes, bike rides and other events provide the community with opportunities to learn more about the importance of wetlands and our water systems. The swamp’s natural and constructed wetlands play a crucial role in improving water quality in urban runoff and municipal wastewater. These wetlands also provide other important benefits such as wildlife habitat, decreased soil erosion, helping with flood control, and more.
