Looking for things to do in the Keweenaw? Guided tours of Keweenaw National Historical Park sites are available on the Red Jacket Trolley Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the summer (June through mid-October). The trolley is also available to rent for your next family reunion, party, or upcoming wedding.

Raised in the Keweenaw, Wil Shapton has studied its history for over 18 years. Wil graduated with a degree in history from Alma College and also studied Industrial Archaeology at Michigan Technological University. He worked as an intern at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI and at numerous historical sites including:
 - Fayette State Park (Michigan's Garden Peninsula)
 - Living History Farms (Urbandale, IA)
 - Hartwick Pines State Park (Grayling, MI)
 - Fort Wilkins State Park (Copper Harbor, MI)

Wil conducted oral history interview projects for the National Park Service and the National Fish and Wildlife Service. He also co-founded and directs Keweenaw Traditions Alive, a local living history program, to research and re-enact 1910 copper mining era history in period costume. Wil's goal is to make history enjoyable and accessible, relevant and lively, by sharing the character and stories of a special place.
