About Us:
Since the early 1980's Captain Spider has been exploring the waterways of Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. We are blessed to be able to enjoy this area and to share it with others who come here to experience it first hand.
A number of "born heres" have adopted Captain Spider almost as a "teaguer", which has led to many a tale of the life and times of old Chincoteague Island.
Sometimes Capt. Spider's wife will go along as Mate. Beverly is his childhood sweetheart and has been married to him for over 35 years. Beverly has experience on the water from fishing trips, cruises and USCGA boat courses. She is also known as the dolphin whisperer.
Spider's Explorer participates in community programs such as:
- Virginia Network for Victims & Witnesses of Crime, Inc.
- Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund
- Chincoteague Police Community Youth Program.
