SplashDown Waterpark, is located in historic Manassas, Virginia, just minutes from Manassas Battlefield National Park. Only 25 miles southwest of the nation’s capital, SplashDown is the largest waterpark in northern Virginia and hosts visitors from Maryland, West Virginia, the District of Columbia and point’s south.
In 1994, the Prince William County Park Authority evaluated the possibility of developing a Waterpark at their existing Ben Lomond Park. The existing park had a 50-meter outdoor pool, a contracted bumper boat and “hydrotube” slide attraction and a bathhouse; soccer and softball fields, racquetball courts and several pavilion areas. A planning team, comprised of internal recreation and park professionals was created and given a directive - develop a 13 acre Waterpark on the site of the existing 50-meter pool.
